Patricia Riggen

Patricia Riggen was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco and she began her career in the film industry through her job as a journalist and screenwriter for documentaries. She worked as a producer for seven Mexican short films that had great acceptance at some of the most important film festivals in the world. Among these short films La Milpa, was her debut as a director.
After studying Screenwriting and directing at Columbia University, she started working on her first feature film Under the same moon (Bajo la misma luna) which won over the hearts of a great number of viewers both in Mexico and the United States.
Because of the success obtained from her feature debut companies such as The Disney Channel kept tabs on Patricia and offered her the direction for the musical Lemonade Mouth in 2011.
Her two most recent films, The 33 and Miracles from Heaven would reunite her with the Mexican stars Kate del Castillo and Eugenio Derbéz, respectively.

Patricia Riggen teaches us that attitude is the most important trait in life and a key element to go the extra mile. Her films are a lesson of optimism and hope. It is the message of migrants, it is the message of love.
