About Guadalajara Construye

In order to facilitate the completion of Latin American feature films that, once shot, are faced with difficulties during post-production, and later on with their commercial release, the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) since 2007 has successfully offered an industry initiative called Guadalajara Construye/ Films in Progress. This unique program selects and presents six projects that are in their post-production phase to industry professionals accredited to the festival (producers, distributors, sales agents, representative of production service companies, funding companies, and film festivals), who can enable the completion of these works-in-progress and their subsequent exhibition.

Guadalajara Construye / Films in Progress 10 will take place in March of 2016 as part of FICG 31.

About GUADALAJARA CONSTRUYE in Los Angeles 2 / Work-in-progress Competition.

Wanting to contribute to the completion of Latino and Ibero-American films, Guadalajara Construye in Los Angeles 2 is seeking feature films that are currently in post-production, made by either Latino or Ibero-American directors living in North America (USA or Canada), or by American and Canadian directors who have a film with Latino or Latin American content.

Guadalajara Construye in Los Angeles 2 will take place on August 27-30, 2015 as part of the Guadalajara International Film Festival in Los Angeles – FICG in LA.

Three feature fiction films seeking postproduction funds will be chosen to screen for the jury and film industry professionals at FICG in LA. Guadalajara Construye in Los Angeles 2 is working to garner specific support for the post-production and commercial distribution of selected films. The awards will be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition, the winning project will automatically qualify to be considered for Guadalajara Construye 9, or for the Ibero-American Competition of the next edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG30) – March 2016.



Film industry professionals can apply for festival accreditation online. We will review your application and send confirmation once we verify your credentials. 


FICG in LA’s Industry Pass includes:

  • Single admission to regular screenings (must arrive 15 minutes before screening, subject to availability)
  • Single admission to FICG in LA work-in-progress screenings.
  • A FICG in LA 2015 Festival Guide
  • Discounts at local restaurants


Important: The INDUSTRY PASS does not include access to Opening and Closing Night Galas. These are separate ticketed events and tickets will be provided to industry badge holders on a space available base.
