Laura Plancarte has worked in a diverse range of mediums including; film, performance and video installation creating interdisciplinary live projects displayed in Museums, cultural spaces and cinemas in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Barcelona, Florence and London. In 2006 and 2007 she was awarded a grant from BNP Paribas and she also been sponsored by the Mexican cultural institutions: La Colección Jumex, La Fundación del Centro Histórico, UNAM, and Secretaría de Cultura del Estado de Jalisco. Tierra Caliente was her first feature film that premiered in Guadalajara’s Film Festival in March 2015, and Brothers will be her second feature film.

In Brothers, we follow two Mexican brothers from Guerrero Mexico on a road trip to the border with the US in search of their dream. However they have illegally crossed the border four times, and being imprisoned and deported each time, they have finally been banned from the US for life. Yet still they dream. Preparing their last attempt to cross, the brothers meet the mother who abandoned them thirty years ago in search of her dream. The encounter provokes a shock that makes them question their life and what they are looking for. Brothers portrays immigration theme through a family reencounte

Paola Ochoa grew up in Cali, Colombia. BA in Social Communication and Journalism from the Universidad del Valle (2011), and MFA in Social Documentary Film from the School of Visual Arts (2015). She has worked in short films as director, producer and editor. She currently lives in Los Angeles, while she directs and produces her first feature documentary film “Sisters”.

“Sisters” tells the stories of four Colombian sisters in their 50’s through their day‐to‐day lives and conversations. By turns revealing and funny, their stories will reflect on love, being a woman, sex, men, and how women find ways to be happy with themselves. “Sisters” is a personal story born from the desire to make a portrait of that space of feminine intimacy from which life is interpreted.
