Welcome to the 2013 FICG in LA!

This year marks the 3rd Annual FICG in LA, a film showcase presenting the best of Mexican and Ibero American cinema from the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) premiering also some key Latino films that have received the critics and audience′s accolades in festivals around the world. FICG in LA will take place November 1 to 3 at Hollywood′s historic Egyptian Theatre.

This new edition of FICG in LA consolidates the project of creating not only a launching platform for Mexican and Latin America films, but also builds a bridge between the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) - the lead film festival in Latin America - and the film lovers and industry professionals in the US. We want to bring the experience of all that FICG has to offer not only as a film festival but also with its other renowned sections like the Guadalajara Film Market, the Talent Campus, Guadalajara Construye (Work in Progress) competition, the Maguey (LGBT) Award & DocuLab.

Firmly rooted in the cultural, social and educational mission of the University of Guadalajara, FICG in LA has become a natural extension of the Guadalajara International Film Festival and aims at expanding and strengthening the ties between Mexico, Ibero America and the US - working in collaboration with FICG to nurture the art of cinema throughout the Americas and the world.

In this effort to highlight and support the Latino and US Latino talent, FICG in LA will also present award recognitions to a number of filmmakers, producers, film organizations and film critics for their outstanding contribution to Latino cinema.

However, in light of recent events in Mexico, our work this year wouldn′t be complete if we didn′t join the efforts to assist the communities severely affected by the tropical storms. FICG in LA has decided to donate all ticket sale proceeds to help rebuild these communities in need.

FICG in LA is presented by the Guadalajara International Film Festival, the University of Guadalajara - Mexico, and the University of Guadalajara Foundation/USA with the support of the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles.

Discover the contemporary Mexican and Ibero-American cinema right in the heart of Hollywood. Get inspired by unique stories and storytelling styles.
Meet the talent behind the films. Be a part of this unique cinematic celebration.

Come and enjoy the 2013 FICG in LA!
